Conference History

The NorthLegal Bankruptcy Conferences were first organized in early 2001, in response to requests by credit unions for a detailed, multi-day, but affordable, program that would allow credit union professionals to learn in detail how to best handle bankruptcy cases.

Originally called the "NLF Bankruptcy Conference," the program was cosponsored that first year by 24 state credit union trade assocations, and was attended by 89 credit union professionals.  Since that time, the program has grown so that it is now cosponsored by 42 state credit union trade associations.   Although still attended primarily by credit union professionals, the NorthLegal Bankruptcy Conference has seen growing attendance from banking  and other financial institution employees who deal with the same challenges.

In response to popular demand, the renamed "NorthLegal Bankruptcy Conference" in Las Vegas moved to August (instead of December) in 2007.

Comments from prior years

"The very best session on bankruptcy I have attended, and the best part is the material. I walked away with a Bankruptcy Training Manual for the credit union."

"I would highly recommend this session over any other. I've attended many bankruptcy and collection seminars, but this was the best. . . ."

"Speaker Great, Food Great, Accommodations Great!!!!!!!"
